Southwest Lightning Pillow
Like a bolt from the azure sky, WoolyLady presents Southwest Lightning Pillow! Revel in classic Southwest flavors in a chic and modern Demi-Pillow that has an amazingly finished look combined with extra-fine details.
Composed on a tableau of our unique True Black wool, the pieces interlock and work with one another in a very interesting way. We love this inlay approach, and we show you how to do it, every step of the way. You can create it!
Southwest Lightning is inspired by authentic art and motifs from the American Southwest. We absolutely love the blend of tans and golds, that create a summery feel without being overpowering. The shock of bright red excites your senses, while the tealy blue is punctuated by the dark purple, to create that interesting feel of heat lightning, on a pillow! Finished with our True Black, this Pillow has everything, but that's not all! The dark purple spreads to the full Backing, which is emblazoned with a petroglyph-colored Timeless Spiral, an ancient symbol as old as mankind itself.

A few special notes about this project from the Designer:
Southwest Lightning offers an opportunity to learn a few new techniques when Blanket stitching the design elements in this project. All the appliqué pieces, with the exception of the two black vertical stripes, fit together like puzzle pieces. Our pattern for this brand-new design will feature some tips for how to stitch these pieces *really together* to prevent them from gapping apart as this project is stretched over a pillow form. There is also a “helpful order” in which to stitch the pieces, to make certain design elements become more pronounced, even when on the same level as all the other pieces. We think every stitcher will learn a little something from Southwest Lightning.
